Camping at Cuyamaca

Over the first weekend of May, we camped it up with our growth group at Cuyamaca campground, which is about 12 miles or so past Julian.  The weather was great and the best part was that there were so many kids there to keep all the kids occupied the whole time!  :)  They had a blast!  Kids and camping just seem to mix together so well.  Micah LOVED the rocks and the dirt (and getting as much of it on him as possible!).

My favorite quote of the entire weekend came from Samuel, and it goes something like this.  Imagine our family sleeping in the tent, with it being about 40 or so degrees outside, and about 3 in the morning...  Samuel says, "Daddy, I'm cold.  Can you turn off whatever is making it so cold in here?" ...(and then 30 seconds later)... "Camping is so much fun!"  Ha!  :)

Here are a few pics to sum up the whole weekend...  :)
We hiked to this little waterfall/pool area in the rocks... the water was freezing, but the kids didn't seem to mind!
Turns out Micah loves camping.  :)
Waiting patiently for their turn at the zipline... never a dull moment at camp!
Samuel couldn't get enough of the zipline!
 Playing musical chairs :)
 Cooking dinner over the fire
Micah & Kaylie swinging in the hammock
And here's the group photo we took - our entire growth group!  Fun times!

I finally blogged about the camping trip, too, haha - and that is such a sweet pic of Micah and Kaylie, I hadn't seen that one!! :) As apprehensive as I was about it, I'd love to go camping as a group again!
