Samuel's Exciting News & Summer Fun!

So far this Summer has been very full for our little family, but at the same time, its been lots of fun, especially for Samuel!

Samuel has been participating in the Little Rookies T-Ball program with some of his buddies from school.  Here's the first day of practice, and the boys are ready to begin.
Samuel is having a blast learning all the right techniques for playing baseball.  He's throwing, catching, running, and hitting both from the T and from a pitching machine.  All the coaches are GREAT, they give a lot of individual attention, and we couldn't be happier!  Plus, at the end of each practice, the kids get their own little stack of real baseball cards to collect!
Here's a little video to showcase how he's been hitting!
We've also signed the boys up for some swim lessons this summer.  Samuel has really improved so much in just a few lessons.
Our boys' instructors are fantastic, the water is really warm, and the school's swim method seems to really be working for our boys!  So far Samuel can hold his breath and swim (with the instructor) all the way across the pool, digging his arms and keeping his head under water.
On the way back to the step, the instructor lets go of Samuel and he swims all by himself for a few feet!
Its been more of an adventure for Micah!  There's been a lot of tears and crying for Mama, but over the past couple lessons he's really starting to improve!  (As long as mama keeps her distance, we've learned.  Its easier when Daddy sits by him... hence the long distance photo below)  :)   But Micah is doing great, he is going under water, holding his breath and learning to dig his arms!
At home, we've loved watching the summer sun grow Samuel's sunflower & tomato plants.  He planted these two sunflowers from seeds back in March!  Can you believe it?
And harvest time has begun for our tomatoes!
Here Samuel just picked our first tomato.  :)
Samuel has also been involved in 2 different vacation Bible school's, which totally wear him out by afternoon-time...  :)
But there's always time for fun at home.  Here he built his own "tiny town"
And made silly, scary masks with Daddy...

But perhaps the MOST EXCITING NEWS of the summer thus far... is that Samuel has learned to ride his bike with no training wheels!
That's right, folks!  He has conquered this big step, and now you just can't keep him off his bike!
So every afternoon we ride bikes and its so much fun.
Here's a video of Day 1 riding his bike.  And every day he gets better and better!  We had taken the pedals off this bike for about a week or so, and he was just riding it as a "balance" bike.  Then, last Saturday Andrew decided to put the pedals back on, and Sam just went for it!
We hope you all are having a great summer so far too!  Until next time!
