Hot Summer Days

We've been trying to make the most of these hot August & September days lately.  Here's what we've been up to!

One day last week, we discovered that the Octonauts were going to be at a nearby mall.  So, I gathered up the boys (this happened to be the hottest day of the year... about 96 in Vista - and 103 near this mall!) and we watched a live Octonauts show along with about 100-200 other kiddos & parents.  Sam loves watching this show, and so it was fun for him to get the chance to meet them.  :)

We also spent Labor Day weekend up in Valencia, where we had an extended family celebration for all the Summer birthdays.  We had a lot of fun and spent most of the hot weekend swimming in the pool, since our two little boys are fishes!

We don't usually take family photos very often, so we took advantage of the opportunity when it came along.  :)  Hard to believe that in about 4 months, we'll have one more little one in the group!

Another fun outing was joining Daddy & Grampy at the Golf Course for Samuel's (and my!) first real round of golf.  Although it was just a short, 9-hole course, and terribly hot & humid, we all had a lot of fun!

Sam really LOVED playing with his brand new birthday clubs.  He did really well!

My cute little golfer buddy!  :)

...like father, like son, like grandson!...

His very first 9 holes ever played... and now ready for a dip in the pool!

In other news, Samuel started Sparks this year!  He was SUPER excited to go and had a great time.

He was so thrilled to be in the same class as his buddies AJ & Callie.  :)  Another year of fun & Scripture memory here we come!

At home, Samuel has been really into drawing lately.  His pictures are priceless and its fun to watch his art skills improving each day!  This momma is just SO proud of him!  Here he decided to draw some train tracks, then gave it to Micah as a present.  Micah loved driving his trains all around the homemade track.  :)  And since Samuel loved seeing how Micah enjoyed it, he drew 2 more train track pictures to go with it.

Here's a big, *full-mouth* cheesy grin from my 2-year-old!

...and a handsome, captivating smile from my 5-year-old!
Have a great day everyone!
