Easter Festivities!

Happy Easter to everyone! We sure had a wonderful Easter season, full of egg hunts & fun memories being made. Our sister-in-law started off the Easter festivities by inviting us to her home for an Easter party - there was egg dying, cooking decorating, arts & crafts, and of course an egg hunt all for the little kiddos. Mind you, he hadn't done an Easter egg hunt in a whole year, so I had to coax him quite a bit to stop admiring his first egg, and go hunt for more! :)

We also had a fun egg hunt with some friends and by this time, Samuel definitely got the hang of what an Easter egg hunt was all about. :) Here's a photo of Samuel & his buddies all lined up looking through their loot. :) Me & my 2 boys! :)

This past Saturday, we stopped by the YMCA for their annual Easter Egg Hunt & Festival. This was Samuel's third year at this egg hunt... here are progression photos for you! I think the first year he got 1 or 2 eggs, last year he got about 4 or 5 eggs, and this year he found by far the most (I didn't count)!

2009 - about 8 months old2010 - about 1 1/2 years old2011 - about 2 1/2 years oldEaster morning Samuel was so nice to sleep in until about 7:15am or so! He woke up and came into our room, and when we said "Happy Easter" to him he got really excited and started dancing and jumping around our room. Here is a photo of his sweet morning face after finding his Easter basket. We got ready for church as quickly as we could, so we could still have time to take an Easter family photo before we left... this one turned out pretty well! After church we headed down to Great-Grandma June's house where the White's were gathering for an Easter celebration. There we had lots of fun with family & good food to share. Samuel (and ALL the little ones) LOVED this bubble blaster thing... and of course there was more cookie decorating, an egg hunt, and lots of fun being played outdoors, despite the light rain that came that afternoon. :)

Most of all we loved sharing with Samuel all Easter-season long about the true meaning of Easter and how this day was the most important day in history! I'm not sure how much a 2 year old can understand about the Easter story, but it is so sweet to hear his little voice exclaim with us "He is risen!" :)

Such fun festivities! Love reading and seeing what you guys are up too. It sure is fun celebrating with the kids. Love you all...fantastic family picture. Wait until you see ours (we didn't have the most cooperative son on Easter Day, I think I went a little photo crazy all weekend and he was done when Sunday actually hit). We didn't get any frambles (I think I made this word up) this year, but at least we are all in it in our Easter Wear! :)
