Happy St. Patrick's Day!

On Thursday, March 14, Samuel celebrated St. Patrick's Day at Preschool.  All the children were tasked to work with their Mom's & Dad's to create their own Leprechaun traps, to capture the leprechauns so they wouldn't cause any mischief at preschool.  Samuel is showing off his trap to the class.  He worked with Andrew & Grandad last Saturday and made a great trap together!
Here Samuel is showing how his trap works... the gold box has gold coins inside to lure the leprechaun in, and then the leprechaun will trip on the stick and get locked inside!
Samuel also posed in front of his lovely shamrock that he painted!  He also wrote his name, and the words "Father, Son and Spirit" to represent the three leaves of the shamrock.

On Saturday the 16th, we celebrated St. Patty's Day with the White family.

My mom made a delicious Irish stew for our meal with a lovely lemon pudding dessert, which reminded me of our lunch spent at the Ballymaloe restaurant in County Cork back in 2006.
The kids had a great day playing together and jumping!
Our parents got a huge jumpy & slide which all the kids LOVED!
 Andrew & me  :)
 Annie & Jillian  :)
One of the highlights of the day was a group of real Irish step dancers that stopped by the house for a surprise performance!
They performed 6 different songs and each of them were amazing!
We loved learning about the different costumes, shoes, and dances.
We learned that the girl in the green shirt is actually going on to compete in the World Irish Dancing Championship competition next week!
Jason & Rael enjoyed the dancing!
Then it was time to eat!  The kids really loved the fruit rainbow - you can kind of see it below!
And all the adults enjoyed their meal inside.
My Dad & Grandma June.  We loved having so many people there to celebrate with us!
Everyone was super tired that evening  - so Micah & Mamoe snuggled up together on the couch.
This morning Samuel discovered that the leprechaun still visited our the house - despite the trap!   He made mischief; making a mess of the house and turning the potty water green!  But the best part is that the leprechaun hid some "treasure" in the house for the boys to find (a cool car for Sam & a fun puzzle for Micah)!
Having fun hunting for his treasure...
Micah didn't quite know what to think, especially when Andrew put this green wig on him!
Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!  :)
