4th of July

We had a very happy 4th of July - celebrating along with both sets of grandparents - at our neighborhood's annual block party.  There was an amazing array of foods & treats, fun & games, and lots of neighbors to get to know better.

The boys in their red, white & blue...
...and the girls!
Little love wearing a new red bow from Grammy.
We tried to get a family photo taken... this was the best we got.  :)
This might give you an idea about how hot & humid the afternoon was...
We had decorated the boy's bikes for the kids bike parade.
Ready for the parade to start!  The kids must have rode their bikes in a circle around the cul-de-sac about 100 times with some patriotic music being played in the background...
Some of the fun included a huge bouncy house with slide...
An ice-cream eating contest...
...and bobbing for apples.  This was Samuel's first time doing this - he got three!
It was a wonderfully fun afternoon!

Andrew has loved taking the boys to Home Depot each Saturday morning.  The boys wear their aprons and get to make something with their own hands - - and tools!  This weekend Micah came home with a wooden jet-ski, and Samuel with an insect keeper box.
Saturday evening we decided to take a picnic dinner to the beach.  Going to the beach in the evening is our new thing...  the weather is still so warm, and so is the water... but there is no need for sunscreen and no worries for sunburns.  :)  Win-win!
You would have never known it was 6pm, the beach was soooo crowded.
Samuel got a new boogie board from Mamoe & Grandad as an (early) birthday present.  He loves it and spent just about the entire time out in the water.
TTFN!
