Wednesday, August 19 was a very special day for our little guy! Samuel turned 7 and was in for a surprising fun-filled day! We woke him up bright & early at 6am with the Beatles "Happy Birthday" song playing in the background and streamers hanging from his door! He was very tired, but perked up when he was given his first present - - wrapped up in Mickey Mouse gift bag... surprise! We're going to Disneyland!
We decorated the car with balloons, streamers and gifts!
After we arrived at the happiest place on earth, we visited City Hall, where Samuel got his birthday button and received a special birthday phone call from Goofy himself. :) Our first ride was Dumbo. Here's the kids holding their magic feathers!
We brought a blank birthday card and asked all the characters we found to sign it. Samuel thought that was pretty special! We got Goofy, Mickey & Pluto to sign!
Even though it wasn't Micah or Kendall's special day - they still had tons of fun!
One of Samuel's favorite rides is Space Mountain. We each got to take him! Samuel thought of the coolest things about turning 7 is that he could ride by himself without sitting next to a parent! This allowed us more flexibility when Micah wanted to ride too!
We made dinner reservations at Cafe Orleans and had a delicious meal! None of us had eaten there before and it was delicious! We highly recommend the Monte Cristo sandwich - yum!
Because of Samuel's birthday button he was constantly getting told "Happy Birthday" by any and all cast members he saw. We had arranged to pre-order this special birthday cake for our boy! Samuel thought they did that just because it was his birthday. :) Either way, it was so special!

On Friday evening we met up with my parents, Aunt Mindy and some of his cousins for a birthday dinnertime picnic at the park.
We had a lovely time and he got some awesome gifts!
Samuel was given this awesome new skateboard from Mamoe & Grandad. They worked closely with my cousin & her husband (who happens to be a professional skater himself!) to get it specially made for him - - Thank you!!! He is so excited!!!
We rounded out the birthday weekend with a lovely trip to the beach. The water was so warm!
We were happily joined by our newest niece, (born to my sister, Jillian & her husband, Steve) - beautiful Grace Audrey Anne - who is just 8 days old in the pictures below. What a tiny treasure she is!
What a joyful birthday and joyous summer this has been! We are so thankful for each and every day we spend with our sweet Samuel. Seven years have sure flown by! Happy Birthday buddy! Mommy & Daddy love you!
