Preschool Graduation, Piano Recital & the Last Days of School!

The month of June was very busy with many activities happening before the last days of school.  Micah was graduating from Pre-K and he is now an official Kindergartener!

I really thought these photos were cute that they posted outside his pre-k classroom - each kid waving goodbye as they move on to kindergarten!
Micah & Tristan were fast friends this year at preschool.  They were inseparable, and naturally, their goodbye photos are mounted right next to each other!
One day during the last weeks of school was "Costume Day," which the teacher told me they picked in honor of Micah.  At preschool, Micah was apparently fascinated with Halloween.  Many times when they would say the months of the year, Micah would often ask when it was going to be Halloween or October.  So here is our little pirate all ready for his costume day!

On June 9th, we attended Micah's preschool "granduation."  He stood up in front of the auditorium, sang a beautiful song with his class, and received his graduation lei.
Congratulations Micah, we are so proud of you!

Micah's last day of school fell on Wednesday, June 15.  This was 3 days before his birthday, so we prepared and brought in goody bags for him to pass out to his friends for his upcoming birthday.  I found this idea on Pinterest - didn't it turn out darling?
The last day of school - such fun!

At the end of the day Micah the class sang happy birthday to Micah and then he passed out his goody bags to his friends.  You can see that he is wearing his birthday crown that he decorated at school!
And for comparison's sake - below is Micah on the first & last day of school!   It is plain to see how much he has grown over this past school year!

On Sunday, June 12 was Samuel's first piano recital!  He began taking lessons in January, and he is really doing so well!  Samuel played two songs, "Just for Fun" and "Our Team."  His good friend Collin plays piano too, and they were the first 2 players at the recital!  Samuel was very excited, and not one bit nervous.  He practiced a few times before the recital started, then did excellent when it was his turn and bowed when he was done!  Then he enjoyed eating all the treats after the recital was over!
After the recital, his piano teacher, Ms. Susan passed out little awards with special handwritten notes from the teacher on the back.
We are very proud of you Samuel!  Keep up the great work!

Samuel's last day of school was Wednesday, June 22.  The kids and I attended his very last flag salute and then he had a fun last day in Mrs. Alt & Mrs. McBrayer's 1st grade class!  This has been a great year for him and he has made lots of wonderful friends this year.  The last day of school was a half day, so we picked him up at the front and took him out to a special lunch at Jersey Mike's!   I can't believe we have an official 2nd grader now!  Way to go Samuel!
Summer, here we come!
