We love you Samuel with all our hearts. You amaze us each day with your love, thoughtfulness, obedience, sweet actions and spirit of joy! You have such a pure heart and we love seeing you grow in your understanding of God everyday. Your Mommy & Daddy are so excited that you are 4 years old! We know you've been looking forward to this day for so long! :)
Love, Mommy & Daddy
On Sunday, August 19th our sweet Samuel turned 4 years old! We celebrated him all weekend long... beginning on Friday with taking him to our last day at Legoland! (Our year long pass expired... so we spent the whole day there enjoying everything, especially all the new rides you can do once you turn 4!) Then on his real birthday, we had a fun party at the park with many of his friends & family. Wanna check out the fun? Okay, just sit back, get comfy, and get ready to scroll through a whole lotta pictures, folks!
A four-year-old birthday breakfast of champions, per his request, which included "red" cheesy eggs, and powdered doughnuts, amongst other things!
Present time at home! Every present he opened he had such a priceless look on his face!
Playing his new "guitar"
Loving his new backpack!
Party time!!!
Sammy loved when all his friends arrived for the party...
...we started the party off with some pizza, chips & watermelon for lunch
And look what Micah discovered! I guess little tanks get hungry for pizza too!
Here he is all full and happy. Yum!
The 2 Grandpas enjoying the party
We also had a craft going at one of the picnic tables... Since Sammy is really into yo-yo's, we found these wooden, unfinished yo-yo's on etsy and set out a bunch of markers and stickers for the kids to decorate their own. :)
Next, it was time for the water balloon launch!
Kids loved trying to catch the water balloons and each earned a prize after launching their balloons.
What to do with extra water balloons???
A water balloon fight, of course!
Next up was the piñata. We homemade this one ourselves, and stuck on lots of pictures of Spiderman, Lightning McQueen & Finn McMissile. :)
They held onto their candy bags as if they were filled with actual golden treasure! But to a kid, its basically the same thing. They didn't let them out of their sight!
Cupcake time! Yummy! There's nothing quite like Barefoot Contessa chocolate cupcakes mixed with my Mom's delicious recipe for homemade buttercream frosting... and to top it off, Sammys favorite, M&M's!
Sammy got the one with the all red M&M's :)
Throwing up the new number... 4!
Sammy smiling with his buddies Callie & Collin
Cupcakes were enjoyed by all...
Oh, and lets not forget there was a playground there, too!
Thanks to everyone for coming! Sammy had such a special birthday!
